57. Chinese Calligraphy 'Star'

I've had a lot of Chinese practice today - and I've got a lot of catching up to do...
So, to get into the spirit, I dug out my Chinese calligraphy set which I've had for many years but never really used, and I had my first go at writing Chinese calligraphy - the character for 'star', of course. :)

After having written some 40 or 50 characters (I can understand how this can be meditational...), I ended up with these:

2 in standard writing:

2 in cursive (which I have never written before...):

I think the last one is my favourite - but I have no idea what the Chinese rules of aesthetics would say about that...

P.S.: The pronunciation is 'xīng'.

  1. 哦~Die letzte Kalligraphie hast du sehr schön geschrieben. :D

  3. Wow, the kanji for "star" in Japanese is very similar. These are lovely.

  5. you wrote the "print" style wrong. it should be a "sheng" birth character. You did not extend the line enough.
