197. Open CD Cases

My instructor at the clinic is an amazing woman from whom I can learn incredibly much! I'm really blessed with her!

Now she gave me a bunch of CDs in two big cases made for 6 each, and it seems only fitting to make those into a star:

148. CD Splinters

I have cracked CDs before because I was really curious about how far they could be bent and how they would finally crack. However, when I decided to do that again to an old CD which was to be thrown away I wasn't at all prepared for such an explosion. Apparently, CDs of different brands behave differently when threatened in such a way. They all fight back, but this one delivered a final blow at me much stronger than others. But the splinters it left looked interesting:

And I love how they shimmer! :)

On a side note: Today, 150 years ago, Alvan Graham Clark discovered the second white darf in the history of astronomy: Sirius B (white dot in the lower left quadrant of the picture), the tiny companion of the brightest star in our night sky, Sirius A.

59. CD Collection Star

I can't believe it's been that long since I last bought a CD. (There were times when I bought them on a monthly basis, and I loved to look for sets on ebay...) Today, however, I got a new (old) album - you'll probably not be surprised to learn it's U2...

Since I had to rearrange my CDs anyway to make the new one fit onto a shelf, I thought I might just as well take them all out and give the new album a kind of initiation ceremony:

I was amazed at how the spikes seemed to form themselves as soon as I put the CDs together. I didn't even have to think about how to do it! :)
